Overview

Crust 2 c flour 1 teaspon salt 2/3 cut shortening 6 - 7 tablespoons cold water Filling 4-6 cups blackberries 1 cup of sugar 2 tablespoons of cornstarch Put the flour in a bowl and add the salt and mix. Cut in the shortening Using a pastry blender or 2 forks (pastry blender works much better) you need it to cut in the shortening until you have little tiny pieces of flour. Then add the 6 - 7 tablespoons of cold water and mix together with fork. Do not overmix as it will get tough. Then divide in half on well floured counter. Put flour on the rolling pin and roll out half the dough just a few times. Flip it over and make sure you put more flour on the counter again and on the rolling pin. Finish rolling out to pie shape. Fold in half and put in pie plate. Do the same with the next piece for the top. Make filling The amount of sugar depends on the sweetness of the berries Mix berries, sugar, and cornstarch Put filling into pie crust The baking parts depends on what type of pie you are making. Usually around 400 degrees for about 45 minutes.
