Overview

Drewl's Ass Blasting Chili [courtesy of Alison] * 1 large red onion minced * 1.5 cans crushed tomatoes (hence my tendency to make 2 crock pots worth) * 2 cans tomato sauce (for this I go for generic cheap unflavored, the flavors come from elsewhere) * 2 Large Peppers minced * .5 habanero minced * 2-3 jalapenos minced * 2-3 cloves of garlic you can either crush it or mince depending on how you see fit. Same goes for sauteing it, 'sup to you, it'll be seeping in the chili for hours so the flavor comes out no matter what you do. * 1 can black beans * 1 can kidney beans (beans are up to personal pref, i like to mix the black & kidney) * 1 can corn (or fresh corn if you are so inclined 1-1.5 cups) * 1 lb meat (chicken, beef, pork, turkey burger, whatever) If you're using ground meat, cook it in some water so it crumbles up nicely * Several Dashes of your favorite hot sauce * Kick in some worchestershire sauce if you want a smokey flavor * Dashes of the following spices: Celery Salt (essential) Chili Powder Cayenne Dump all this stuff into a crockpot and let it cook real long until it smells nice and tasty. There is plenty of room for improvisation on this stuff At times I have included such rare and exotic ingredients as: venison, maple syrup, ginger, scallions (best used on top as a garnish), brown sugar, bbq sauce, rice, puppies, little babies... Taco bowl (Drewl's Ass Blasting Chili) * Take large flour tortillas * A nice fry pan with good curves * Top choice oil Get some hot oil going (good test is to sprinkle some water drops into the oil, and if it they burst into steam bubbles, you're good, but you don't want the oil to get too hot.) Drop the tortilla in (you want each side to get a light golden brown color) Right after you pull them out, you can drop them in a bowl to get their shape If you're making a bunch you can stack them on some paper towels to soak up the oil. Warning - make sure you have enough oil, cause if it gets low you risk getting tortillas burned into your pan, which is not a pretty sight. You can keep the tortillas warm in your oven. Load the chili up into the taco shells Garnish with some shredded cheddar or monterey jack (pepper jack is my fave, i can't get enough spice), Dollop of sour cream Thinly sliced scallions.
